Review: Julep Nail Vernis in Stefani

Hey lovelies! Today I'd like to talk to you about Julep nail polishes in general, especially this particular one, Stefani.

(2 Coats + Top Coat ~ Natural Light)

The bottle feels very expensive--it's made completely of glass and is heavier than drugstore polishes. It feels almost luxurious. I don't quite understand why the polish doesn't go all the way to the bottom, but that's just semantics.

I received this polish in a set when I tried out a Julep Maven Box, a monthly subscription service specifically for nail polish junkies (like myself). There was a deal going on where your first box was a penny. I believe there is a coupon code going around now (FREEMAVEN) that will make your first box free (not including shipping, which is $3.95). I cancelled the service after that first month, not because it wasn't amazing but because I really just should not be spending the small amount of money I have on solely nail polish every month. But if it is in your budget, I highly recommend it. I'll do a whole post on it at some point.

This was the first polish I received in that box and I absolutely loved it. The color is a metallic silvery-grey with gold flecks (not quite glitter). It's gorgeous! You can't really see the gold flecks unless you look closely at it, but the gold flecks made it just look really pretty in the sunlight (or artificial lighting, even). The color is a little edgy, but I still think it's a fun, different color for spring. There's almost a hint of olive green in there, but only if you look closely. Perhaps it's just the interaction with the gold flecks.

The formulation is excellent. It goes on smooth--really a hassle-free polish, which is great for someone like me who has no patience. It dries pretty quickly and it is really resistant to chipping (more than Revlon Colorstay or O.P.I.). I also achieved complete opacity with two coats, but one coat was almost sufficient.

Overall, I really like this polish and I highly recommend it. It can be purchased for $14 on Julep's website. However, if you are looking for new nail polish, I would just join their monthly Maven Box program, because it's $22/month and you get 2-3 polishes, so it's definitely a better deal in my opinion. If you're interested in learning more about the program, comment below and I'll do a more in-depth post!.

What are you wearing on your nails right now?

With love,
Sammi
